Founded in 1935, Stokes is proud to have its roots in its home base of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where we continue to operate. A 3-generation family business, what originally started as “Shiveck’s”— the first store on Saint-Laurent street in Montreal sold high-end porcelain and dinnerware—turned into Stokes over the years. The inspiration for the name came from a city in England, famous for its pottery: Stoke-on-Trent. Today, Stokes is a vibrant, established national chain across Canada, with over 100 stores and 1000 passionate employees, plus a thriving online business. We are home living.
